We are hiring!

Lead Controls Engineer | Founding Team

The Role

We are looking for an amazing Controls Engineer to join us as a founding member of our team. You will have the opportunity to do much more than just "make a machine work." You will be the principal software architect for a new generation of automation and the leader of our controls organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Write code: help us get our first automated machine, which produces structural building components for residential construction, up and running.

  • Develop reusable software libraries: design, implement, and refine a robust software library in TwinCAT that can be deployed across various machines.

  • Implement best programming practices: leverage object-oriented programming, unit testing, and other best practices to create clean, maintainable, and scalable software.

  • Help us build this company: work with us to shape our technical roadmap and culture of innovation.

Qualifications

  • Beckhoff Mastery: extensive experience with TwinCAT 3, servo motion, and Beckhoff hardware.

  • Software Depth: a deep understanding of best practices, including object-oriented programming, unit testing, version control, state machines, publish-subscribe models, etc.

  • Architectural Mindset: you have a proven track record of creating reusable libraries and frameworks rather than one-off solutions.

  • Foundational Grit: you are comfortable in a startup and excited to help us build a "flourishing" company from the ground up.

  • Education: you have a degree in an engineering field (or equivalent experience).

The Opportunity

We are convinced this is the best opportunity for a controls engineer around. Here are a few of the things we can offer you:

  • A competitive salary and benefits

  • The chance to architect revolutionary automation—this is the kind of work engineers LOVE.

  • The opportunity to earn equity in a new startup with enormous potential—our machines will change the world and you will benefit as an owner.

Meaningful work

  • Your work will improve working conditions in an industry that employs more than three million people.

  • Your work will improve the satisfaction of families as they make the largest and most consequential purchase of their lives (their home).

  • When it is time to build your own home, your machine will make the structural building components for your new house—how cool is that—and save you a ton of money in the process.

Due to the nature of this work, this is an on-site role: remote candidates will not be considered.
